The Anthony Ferrara Quartet
Anthony Ferrara started playing saxophone at the age of 9 in a small town near San Fransisco.
By high school he was studying with the great music educator and saxophonist Dann Zinn,
whose list of students include Remi LeBoeuf and Ambrose Akinmusire. Also in high school
Anthony played lead tenor in both the SFJAZZ High School All-Star Big Band and the
JazzSchool Studio Band, now named the California Jazz Conservatory Studio Band. Anthony
toured with the Studio Band this summer as a soloist Playing in Festivals across Europe
including the Vienne Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Umbria Jazz Festival.
Anthony currently attends NYU in Steinhardt’s Jazz Studies program studying under SNL
saxophonist Lenny Pickett, and in previous semesters studied with Vanguard Orchestra
saxophonists Rich Perry and Billy Drewes. Anthony is Currently playing in the NYU Jazz
Orchestra as well as leading his own quartet playing original jazz compositions.
